Donations will contribute to opening a cafe that aims to solve the many downfalls of the current coffee service industry. Tony’s Cafe Lounge will serve fair trade, specialty coffees, and teas that appeal to both aficionados and traditional drinkers. From bean to brew, you will know that your coffee was made with gourmet ingredients, sustainable practices, and fairly paid labor. Our beans are sourced from cooperatively owned farms and/or fair trade-certified sources. Our staff will be compensated above the average industry rate as well as a percentage of the profits that the cafe generates. So you will know each time you visit our cafe, you will be contributing to the success of the workers, rather than just the management.
Initial funding will be focused on supplying quality furniture and decor for the cafe rather than settling for a cheap and uncomfortable environment, which is the standard for most commercial coffee shops. Anyone who enjoys sitting in our cafe for extended periods can join our coffee club for a daily or weekly fee, which will offer free refills on drip coffee along with discounts on specialty coffees, teas, and foods. Along with this, we believe that we should give back to the people who believe in our dream, which has always been the youth and students of South Florida. That is why Tony’s Cafe Lounge will introduce late-night study hours exclusively for students and a student discount during all hours of operation. We believe that good coffee can be achieved without having to sacrifice good labor practices or communal spaces.
Anyone who contributes will receive a discount during our grand opening week by presenting proof of their contribution. Until the cafe officially opens, you can enjoy our coffee and teas from Tony's Cafe Cart, which moves around South Florida.
